Origins
The first floor of the building on the corner of Second and Ludlow Streets had been vacant for more than 15 years, ever since Elder Beerman left and the Courthouse Crossings building was created. There was a need for an intimate, state-of-the-art, flexible performance space in downtown that has a multitude of configurations and provides patrons and professional companies the highest quality experience possible. Dayton Live's venues were at capacity for arts activities because thousands of our community members utilize them throughout the year. The PNC Arts Annex celebrated its grand opening November 30-December 2, 2018 with classes, staged readings, spoken word, yoga, a drag cabaret, and a funk concert! The space gives our current Education & Engagement programs room to grow, but more importantly, it allows room to expand into new and exciting avenues. The PNC Arts Annex also provides members of our community of every age the opportunity to experience, explore and express their personal creativity, however that is defined.
