A Conversation With The Authors

Nov 9, 2024

Victoria Theatre

Description

Please join the Dayton Literary Peace Prize Foundation for a literary event to celebrate the 2024 winning authors. On Saturday, November 9, the Victoria Theatre stage will host national and international authors whose works are recognized as advancing the cause of peace and social justice through the written word. DLPP and Pulitzer Prize winning author Gilbert King will moderate the panel.

The 2024 Ambassador Richard C. Holbrooke Distinguished Award recipient is President Jimmy Carter. Following the panel conversation, President Carter’s grandson, Jason, will be interviewed live on stage to talk about his grandfather’s role as author and former president – and the many ways President Carter has dedicated his life’s work to the pursuit of peaceful resolution to conflict on a global scale. Jason will be interviewed by James Fallows, a distinguished Atlantic Monthly writer and associate of both President Carter and Ambassador Holbrooke. He was the chief White House speechwriter during the first two years of the Carter Administration.
